Meet The Founder

 MEET THE FOUNDER

Meet our Founder who has worked hard daily to make it all happen so staff can deliver the best level of service. She see's big potential in every moment and cares deeply about what her staff do every day.
Her team are passionate about making a positive change and ensure effectiveness and efficiency at every level of operation. The Board of Directors is made up of a group of individuals with breadth and depth of experience across various industries.

Veleta has lived experience gained through her traumatic start at life with her father being shot dead as an innocent bystander when she was only 4 1/2 years old. With no therapy or counselling offered she navigated her childhood as a very hurt and angry child. This led to several fights and exclusions at school. However due to her outstanding academic capabilities and overachieving she was able to complete school with good GCSE's (grades A-C).

Her behaviour was also due to her mother having a mental breakdown when she was only 11 years old. This meant she had to grow up fast and sacrifice a lot of her childhood to care for her disabled little brother to prevent him from going to care. She and her elder brother would be checked upon by their social worker on a weekly basis who would provide food, gas, electric etc.

As a result of her mothers mental health she has experienced 28 years of a rollercoaster of emotions etc. At 19 years old she found herself homeless and pregnant with her little brother. Following a few months in the Haven she was given a council property and this was the start of her journey to greatness.

She now owns the property, has a number of degrees and is a Construction and IT project manager, a herbalist and a mother to 2 exemplar sons whom she raised alone.  Her experience and her wish of having someone there who understands when she was a young person was the catalyst for her forming Elevate The Youth CIC as she believes that no young person should suffer due to situations out of there control.
